About Captain Ryan Phillips
Originally from Wichita Falls Texas, Captain Phillips joined the U S Coast Guard out of high school. He spent all but 18 months of his 20+ years on the water. From navigating a 270 ft ship around the Caribbean to pushing barges up and down the Arkansas and Mississippi Rivers to facing the Bearing Sea in Alaska, Captain Phillips has seen a little bit of everything. He retired from the CG in August of 2023 and has been teaching maritime courses for the past two and a half years. He has a passion for training and for the water.
